New Holland Hit and Miss Engines
P.E. Shirk from neighboring Blue Ball, Pa. made a tractor in the 1911 time period and used a Woodpecker engine from the Middletown Machine Co. Take note of the tractor which shows a New Holland engine. Zimmerman apprenticed under Shirk so there was a relationship between the two companies. It is believed Shirk repaired New Holland products and Shirk may have helped when the New Holland factory needed assistance.
